Welcomed to the Enkakuji Temple in Kamakura by Yokota Roshi, I entered the Sanmon 山門 (三門 ), the gate through which pilgrims walk seeking deliverance from earthly attachments and desires, (空、無相、無願)and the suffering that comes from grasping, clinging and trying to control things. Sitting in the Zazenkai with others, is a way of letting go and experiencing the mystery, accepting reality with clarity, courage, and compassion. This "emptiness" that is talked about in Buddhism is paradoxically also experienced as "fullness."
